Jann Mardenborough – From Gran Turismo to Le Mans
When Polyphony Digital Inc. released the first Gran Turismo title back in December 1997, nobody would have expected that the franchise would turn over 70 million copies. But there was an even bigger surprise in the making. When Sony and Nissan created the GT Academy, nobody expected it to become a real feeder series for motorsport talent scouts, closing the gap between virtual and real-life racing to make the dreams of aspiring race drivers a reality.
In 2011 Jann Mardenborough became the best Gran Turismo player in the world beating 90,000 entrants in the Gran Turismo series. As we now all know, he was rewarded with a drive for Nissan at the Dubai 24 Hour. In 2013 Jann raced in the FIA European Formula 3 Championship. He is currently racing in GP3 Series for Arden International.
