Studio 397 has shared new preview screenshots of the Spa-Francorchamps circuit for the upcoming Le Mans Ultimate racing title. The virtual Spa track is built using a brand-new Laserscan Point Cloud to bring it up to its current 2023 configuration including a terrain overhaul, recent track changes (such as the gravel traps), and the new grandstands.
The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, commonly referred to as Spa, is a racing circuit located in Stavelot, Belgium. It is the current venue of the Formula One Belgian Grand Prix.
The 7.004 km (4.352 mi) Spa Fracorchamps circuit is considered one of the most challenging and demanding tracks in the world. It is characterized by its long straights, fast corners, and elevation changes. The track is also home to some of the most iconic corners in Formula One, such as Eau Rouge and Raidillon.
The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps has hosted a variety of local and international racing series over the years, including Formula 1, Formula 2, and Formula 3, The World Endurance Championship (WEC), The European Le Mans Series (ELMS), the world-famous annual 24 Hours of Spa, various GT3 and GT4 championships, DTM, TCR, GT-Open, Belcar, Supercar Challenge, Britcar, and many more.
Recently, the Spa Francorchamps circuit has been updated with the most significant change being the addition of a new grandstand and terraces in the Endurance area, providing more capacity and a better viewing experience for the racing fans. Furthermore, in 2022, the track reintroduced gravel traps at several corners, including, La Source, Les Combes, Bruxelles, Blanchimont, and the Chicane.
Le Mans Ultimate is being developed by Studio 397 and Motorsport Games Inc. The game will feature (some or all) official cars and circuits of the 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship WEC season, with the 24 Hours of Le Mans as its headline event.
The cars list will consist of Hypercars from Ferrari, Peugeot, Porsche, and Toyota, alongside all the cars of the 2023 full-season WEC championship. You can expect high-fidelity models of iconic tracks such as Spa-Francorchamps, Monza, Fuji, and of course the Circuit de la Sarthe.
The Le Mans Ultimate game is scheduled to become available on PC somewhere in December 2023. During 2024, publisher Motorsport Games Inc. will be evaluating if they can also bring this title to consoles.
