Miami Florida-based Game developer, publisher, and eSports ecosystem provider Motorsport Games officially revealed the Toyota Gazoo Racing GR010 Hypercar as part of the upcoming Le Mans Ultimate endurance racing game/simulator in development by Studio 397.
The teaser video also shows us the first track footage of the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, better known as Portimão.
Keep in mind that all the included media represents a work in progress.
The Toyota GR010 Hybrid is a sports prototype racing car developed by TOYOTA GAZOO Racing especially designed for the Le Mans Hypercar class regulations in the FIA World Endurance Championship. It is the successor to the Toyota TS050 Hybrid, which competed in the WEC from 2016 to 2020.
In the inaugural 2021 Hypercar season, two TOYOTA GAZOO Racing cars participated in the Hypercar class, namely cars No. 7 and No. 8, and they won all of the races in the series, which included winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the fourth consecutive year and taking the series championship for the third year in a row, achieving two double WEC world titles and three consecutive victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans from 2018 to 2020. In its second year, the GR010 HYBRID won the team’s fifth consecutive Le Mans title with a 1-2 finish and took both the Manufacturer and Driver titles for the fourth consecutive season in the series.
The GR010 Hybrid is powered by a 3.5 L direct-injection twin-turbocharged petrol V6 engine, which produces up to 670 horsepower (490 kW). The car also has a hybrid system, which uses a front-mounted electric motor to provide an additional 272 horsepower (203 kW) of power. The hybrid system can be used to boost the car’s acceleration, improve its cornering performance, and extend its range. The total power of the four wheels is subject to performance adjustment following the BoP (balance of power) regulation.
The 2023 model features an improved body and improved output, as well as reduced weight in accordance with the regulations. The GR010 Hybrid is very recognizable, wearing Toyota’s racing colors, predominantly white with red and black accents.
Le Mans Ultimate will feature (some or all) official cars and circuits of the 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship WEC season, with the 24 Hours of Le Mans as its headline event. The cars list will consist of Hypercars from Ferrari, Peugeot, Porsche, and Toyota, alongside all the 2023 full-season WEC championship cars. You can expect high-fidelity models of iconic tracks such as Spa-Francorchamps, Monza, Fuji, and of course the Circuit de la Sarthe.
Initially scheduled to become available on PC somewhere in December 2023, the release date, was pushed back to 20 February 2024. Motorsport Games will later on evaluate a possible console release in 2024.
