Machine Dojo Modding Team scratch build mod for Project CARS.

Project CARS by Slightly Mad Studios is not the first platform that comes to mind when discussing modding projects. However, a rather big project is in the works as we speak.

The Machine Dojo Modding Team started out to create new and free content for the Project CARS game.  The aim of the modding team is to improve the roster of GT3 cars available in the game.

At this time, MDMT are planning to create scratch models of the 2015 Audi R8 LMS, 2015 Lamborghini Huracan GT3, 2016 Lexus RC-F, 2015 Cadillac ATS-V.R GT3 and 2016 Callaway Corvette C7 GT3. If all goes well, the Machine Dojo Modding Team will also be moving onto other projects later in the year.

  

The 3D artists will try to create models that are as detailed as the original Slightly Mad Studios content. The first car under development is the new 2015 Audi R8 LMS. To show us the progress, the team already posted a first set of previews showing us some clay renders of the car.

At this time, the modding team decided to create the mod as free content and not to opt for a payware modding format. However, the team is trying to get some funding in by means of donations. When interested, feel free to visit the Machine Dojo Modding Team website.

As the Project CARS game was never intended to be a moddable platform, it is not yet clear how Slightly Mad Studios will react to the creation of third party content for their product. Nevertheless, we can only applaud the team for trying to bring new and free content to the community.
