In its Half Year Financial Report for the first half of the fiscal year 2022/2023, Digital Bros, the Italian video game company that publishes, games under its 505 Games subsidiary brand has confirmed that Assetto Corsa, which is intellectual property owned by the Group and developed by Kunos Simulazioni exceeded 12 million Euros in revenue in the reported period.
It is not a secret that Kunos Simulazioni is currently working on a follow-up for its original Assetto Corsa game. It was already hinted that the new title had a projected release window somewhere in 2024. Now the release date has been narrowed down.
Interestingly the preciously mentioned financial report confirms that a new installment of the successful Assetto Corsa racing simulator is scheduled for a Spring 2024 release.
Until now, not many details regarding the development of the new title have been shared, nor is it clear which platforms the upcoming installment will support. Looking at the commercial success of both the PC and console releases of the previous iterations, it is safe to assume that the new title will appear on the same platforms.
What we do know (confirmed by Marco Massarutto, co-founder and Executive Manager of Kunos Simulazioni) is that Assetto Corsa 2 will be powered by Kunos Simulazioni’s proprietary game engine instead of the Unreal Engine 4 as used for the Assetto Corsa Competizione title.
