Back in 2006, an Italian company that is now synonymous with the term sim racing released the first version of Netkar Pro.

A year earlier, Italian game developer Stefano Casillo and Product Manager Marco Massarutto founded the Kunos Simulazioni software development studio and set up camp at the Vallelunga Racing Circuit near Rome Italy.

They both envisioned a new breed of racing simulator, with an emphasis on realism and advanced features, such as a complex tire model and a realistic handling model. The project was named Netkar Pro and aimed to become a driving simulator solution for both the professional racing world and the enthusiastic race gamer.

While we are not going to delve into the history of Netkar Pro, most sim racers will know that this was the start of a big adventure that via the 2010 Ferrari Virtual Academy title ultimately lead to the birth of the Assetto Corsa success story.

In 2014 Kunos released the PC version of Assetto Corsa followed by a console release in 2016. In 2017 the company was purchased by Digital Bros S.p.a.

In 2018, Kunos Simulazioni announced Assetto Corsa Competizione, as a new racing title backed by an official SRO Blancpain GT Series license. ACC went into Steam Early Access in 2018 and released Version 1.0 in May 2019. Back in June of this year, Kunos Simulazioni and 505 Games have released the popular Assetto Corsa Competizione racing simulation title for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Consoles.
