Apex Racing visited the 2018 Sim Racing Expo at the German Nürburgring circuit, they took the time to interview some interesting people working in the Sim Racing industry. Yesterday we posted the interview with iRacing’s Director of Marketing Kevin Bobbitt who talked about the upcoming new damage model, and the addition of a single player mode against AI.

Today Apex Racing published another interesting interview with Niels Heusinkveld of Heusinkveld Engineering. Niels talks about the upcoming new HE Sim Pedals Sprint which will be replacing the popular HE Sim Pedals Pro set.

Visitors of this year’s Sim Racing Expo had the opportunity to check out and test pre-production prototypes of the new Sprint pedal set. As with most Heusinkveld gear, all the mechanics, electronics and software of the new pedal set have been designed from the ground up. The new SmartControl software adds a layer of software-based configuration options on top of extensive mechanical adjustability.

The Sim Pedals Sprint set is scheduled to become available in the 4th quarter of 2018. Heusinkveld reports that currently, the estimated cost will be 719 EUR including VAT for EU-customers, 594 EUR excluding VAT for non-EU customers for a 3-pedal set. The final pricing will be set when the product becomes available. Besides the 3-pedal version, Heusinkveld Engineering will also offer a 2-pedal set and an optional mounting baseplate which is greatly improved compared to its predecessor.

Heusinkveld Engineering is a Dutch company that offers a broad array of products and services to the real and virtual racing scene. From advanced vehicle simulation software to simulator hardware. Sim Racers might also know Niels Heusinkveld as the main physics creator for the Automobilista racing simulator by Reiza Studios.
