Nyck de Vries – Why Simulators Are So Important In Motorsport

Dutch racing driver Nyck de Vries who was the 2019 FIA Formula 2 Champions is currently a driver for the Mercedes-Benz EQ Formula E Team, alongside Stoffel Vandoorne.

Nyck initially joined Mercedes-Benz to become the F1 simulator driver. This role led to a test in the Silver Arrow 01, which transpired into a full-time drive with the Mercedes-Benz EQ Factory Team as it prepared for its debut year as a works team in the all-electric FIA Formula E Championship.

In the latest Formula-E video, Nyck de Vries explains the role in which the simulator and its driver help racing teams to come up with the best strategy when tackling a race.
