The ImSim Alma Motion Simulator
Imsim published a brand new video officially introducing their “ready to race” ImSim Alma Motion Simulator.
ImSim started life as a daughter company of the Portuguese SIRMAF firm, who design and manufacture custom machinery, software, and robotics for the automotive industry. After analyzing a wide variety of markets, SIRMAF decided that with their expertise and professionalism, it might be interesting to develop a motion simulator product that could be sold directly to the end-user.
The ImSim brand was born, and the new company started developing a 3DOF motion simulator that was not only very functional but also a feast for the eyes. In their own words, motion simulator aesthetics should reflect its purpose, and their initial design already proved that theory.
Over the years, InSim further developed the product and perfected both the functionality and aesthetics of the simulator. The product also received its official name and is now known as the ImSim Alma. That name was chosen wisely as it is the Portuguese word for soul and character.
The Alma generates 3 degrees of freedom, being roll, pitch, and yaw. This enables the unit to accurately represent crucial sensations such as grip limit, weight transfer, suspension travel, loss of traction, road noise, as well as important nuances such as track inclination, braking, and lateral G-force inputs. All these functions are implemented while retaining a very compact footprint (0,8m x 2,5m).
Each ImSim Alma unit is hand-crafted and comes with ImSim’s proprietary Motion Control Software which contains pre-installed movement presets, so customers can jump right into the action. Needless to say, users can also configure their own profiles and tune motion and transducer settings to their personal preferences. The ImSim Alma motion system features near lag-free response times, due to the use of their proprietary software combined with very strong high-grade motors.
The ImSim Motion System is compatible with most of the popular simulation software solutions on the market, such as Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Project CARS, rFactor 2, iRacing, RaceRoom, and the Codemasters Dirt and Formula 1 titles.
Besides the controller software, InSim also develops a venue management software package which can control multiple simulators, With this solution, racing centers, and event organizers can easily start and stop races, edit player names, choose track-car combinations and even switch from single to triple screen or VR with a few clicks via a PC or tablet connected to the Simulator network.
With corporate and commercial events in mind, InSim also markets a dedicated robust FlightCase on wheels which enables easy transport of a simulator with the display stand and all peripherals already setup. Impressively, this lets customers get the unit ready for use in under 1 minute.
Furthermore, InSim provides services such as Customer support, Transportation, Installation, and Training. Customer service is handled worldwide, both remotely and in person. Furthermore,
customer support includes communication via e-mail, WhatsApp, and phone calls, as well as TeamViewer interventions.
