Project CARS 2 confirmed

Only just after Slightly Mad Studios have successfully released their Project CARS racing game, it is now confirmed that the team will start work on a sequel.

SMS Head of Studio Ian Bell posted a thread on the official WMD forums explaining that they will continue the World of Mass Development crowd funding programme while producing Project CARS 2.

Mr. Bell already explained some of the details, but due to the fact that information shared within the forum is supposed to be private, we decided not to post the content. However, Slightly Mad Studios will soon share the information on a new public web page explaining all the details.

When the Project CARS development started, Slightly Mad Studios introduced the “World of Mass Development” platform. The initial idea was to let the developers rely on the power of the community by letting them fund and steer the development of the game. Without going into the mechanics of the crowd funding system, it immediately seemed a big success ending up with over 80,000 members who had in some financial form contributed to the project.
