Project CARS – BMW 320 Turbo Group 5 at Circuit Zolder
With the release date of Project CARS closing in, let’s have another look at the Slightly Mad Studios title. DigiProst created a new video showcasing the BMW 320 Turbo at the Belgian Circuit Zolder. In this video, DigiProst fitted his camera behind his racing seat giving us a third person look at his session and also showcases his heel and toe technique.
Yours truly might be a little biased towards this video since it depicts a car and circuit I am very familiar with. Living very close to the Zolder Circuit, I grew up watching the German Group 5 Championship race at my home track. As a very young racing fan in the late 70’s and early 80’s ADAC Westfalen Pokal and the Bergischer Lowe races at Zolder where the reason for my still lasting Autosport addiction. When I now look at today’s Simulator and Game efforts, it is mind blowing how good they try to recreate the track and its atmosphere.
I visit Circuit Zolder as much as 50 times a year and with that in mind, I do feel that the Project CARS and RaceRoom Racing Experience versions are by far the best recreations out of any sim/game ever created. While many of us have a habit of focussing on the fact that it’s a laser scanned version or not, I feel that also the visual side has to generate a familiar look. The Pcars and R3E versions of the track keep amazing me every time I have a go. With the inclusion of both the Solar panels and the Wind Turbines at the track, the Project CARS version can now be called the most up to date.
Project CARS will be available on March 17 (USA) and March 20 (EUROPE) for PC, Sony PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Xbox One. Project CARS will be released as a boxed retail version and as a digital download on the Steam platform.
