Slightly Mad Studios is pumping out cars by the bucket load. This time we welcome the 1997 Ford Mustang Cobra Trans-Am. The best weapon of choice in the 1997 Trans Am Championship was definitely a Mustang. Tommy Kendall, host of SpeedTv’s Test Drive was dominating the championship by capturing all the poles. Kendall’s 1997 championship winning car was constructed by Roush Racing. It was powered by 310 cubic inch V8 pushrod motor. The Mustang produced about 650 horsepower at 8,200 rpm.
Rauf Zero uploaded a video showing us some footage of the Ford Mustang Cobra Trans-Am at the California (Willow Springs) track. In this early stage the car looks and feels the way it should, and already sounds very convincing. Slightly Mad Studios licenced 11 Ford cars to appear in Project CARS. An impressive list to say the least. If the development team keeps on pushing its current standard, it will be going head to head with the Forza’s and Gran Turismo’s of this era. Project CARS will be released for the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Steam OS, and Wii U somewhere in the fall of 2014.
