Project CARS – More Chevrolet Corvette C7.R GTE Previews
On March 1, Slightly Mad Studios will release the anticipated US Racecar Pack DLC for Project CARS. One of the most popular car models in the pack is undoubtedly the IMSA Chevrolet Corvette C7.R GTE.
Today Slightly Mad Studios posted a new set of in-game screenshots showing us how good the Project CARS model turned out. Furthermore, they also posted a new video on Instagram showing us some more in-game action. To make sure that the handling of the C7. R model would be perfectly replicated, the Slightly Mad Studios dev team called in the help of former sim racer and two-times Le Mans 24 Hours winner, Tommy Milner.
“Tommy Milner stated: I love any opportunity to help bring to life the feeling of driving the Corvette C7.R. This one in particular after such a successful 2015 campaign with Corvette Racing winning the Daytona 24 Hour, Sebring 12 Hour, and 24 Hours of Le Mans. I really wanted to help give the players the best experience of what it is like to drive our Corvette C7.R. From the high downforce tracks like Watkins Glen where the car is very responsive and easily hustled around the track, to the low downforce tracks like Le Mans where you really have to let the car flow through the corners and not over drive it, I think the players will enjoy the realistic challenge of driving the Corvette C7.R.
“The team at Project CARS clearly had done their homework because the first iteration of the car I tested in game was already so close to the real thing it only took a few tweaks to really get the car dialed in. I was really happy with the feeling from the car at the end after working with the team to get it as close to the real thing as possible.”
Vehicle Lead on Project CARS, Casey Ringley said: “There is no American sports car racing team in recent history more iconic than Team Corvette and it has been fantastic working with Tommy to ensure the look, sound, and feel of the car you’ll experience in game is as close a mirror to the real thing as possible. It is a unique car and Tommy’s feedback has been essential in setting up the chassis to run exactly as they raced the car in 2015.”
