R3E DTM 1992 Multiplayer Gameplay video
RaceRoom Racing Experience by Sector3 Studios is becoming a very solid Racing Simulator fast. While the Dev team is still working hard on the graphics and features side of the platform, it is safe to say that firing up R3E is already a very rewarding experience.
Within the community, the R3E User Interface has been criticized for being counter-intuitive. With the latest version, you will notice that Sector3 have listened to their community’s requests and are already working on a better and more user friendly version, enabling you to select your weapon of choice using an easy and clean layout.
One battle they have already won is without a doubt the Sound implementation. RaceRoom Racing Experience simply features the best sounds in the industry! It does not matter if you are in the cockpit or watching a replay. Both internal and external sounds have no competition when it comes to quality, detail and authenticity. Community members who visit real world racing events on a regular basis will immediately realize how accurate the R3E sounds are crafted. We can only applaud this because the sound is one of the most integral components of immersion and is often underestimated in other titles.
Now let’s get to the video part of this post. A modern racing simulator has to feature an online multiplayer mode to be considered a complete racing platform. While the R3E multi-player function is still currently in beta mode, it does not fail to impress us when compared to existing non-beta titles. Sector3 Studios have worked hard to make sure you can do some solid racing against community members around the world. To even further accommodate the online experience, they have set up a selection of international server to make sure lag and latency are kept to a minimum. A video says a million words. Check out the included footage of a multi-player online race captured and uploaded by MegaHDPlayTV.
The same can be said of the AI feature in R3E. While this is often the Achilles heel of many racing titles out there, it is not the case in R3E. The AI already behaves as expected, resulting in a very enjoyable single player experience. A video says a million words. In this video, we can watch an on-track battle driving the DTM 1992 Mercedes Evo II at the Belgian Zolder track. The Mercedes 190E 2.5-16 Evo2 is part of the recently released DTM 1992 pack for RaceRoom Racing Experience that can be purchased for 999 vRP at the RaceRoom Racing Experience store. (You can download the core R3E Free 2 Play game for free at the same website.)
The 1992 Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft season was the ninth season of the German Touring Car Championship (DTM). The season had twelve rounds with two races each. There were two additional rounds held in Belgium at the Zolder Circuit, and at the Czech Republic Brno track. The championship was won by Klaus Ludwig in his Mercedes 190E 2.5-16 Evo2.
All in all, we can’t praise R3E enough. It still is regarded as the underdog of racing games but seems to deliver all you would expect from a modern Racing/Simulation title. In our humble opinion, some features can be improved. Most importantly the user interface which tends to be a little confusing when you have to find content you own could do with a re-think. Also, we are not sure using a virtual currency such as the R3E Vpp is the clearest method for attracting interest and purchases. It seems allot of our fellow community members are put off by the somewhat confusing pricing system. We believe that using a real world currency such as euro’s dollars or pounds would generate a clearer pricing system, resulting in more R3E content purchases.
For those who not yet tried R3E, don’t forget the base content is Free 2 Play. Check it out at the RaceRoom website or R3E Steam page.
