RaceRoom – Compete In The Volkswagen ID. R Challenge

Volkswagen has begun testing its 671bhp ID R electric race car at the Nurburgring, ahead of an attempt by pro racing driver Romain Dumas to set a new Nordschleife lap record for electric vehicles which currently stands at 6 minutes 45.9 seconds, set by the NIO EP9.

But also sim racers will have the opportunity to (virtually) drive this electric monster. In partnership with Sector3 Studios, Volkswagen presents the virtual ID. R Challenge using RaceRoom Racing Experience is held starting the 24th of April 2019 and ends on the 24th of October 2019.

Enter the Competition

 

The ID. R Challenge winner will have the opportunity to experience a Volkswagen Ice Adventure, while the runner-up will win a Volkswagen Driving Experience. The price for third place will be a yet to be announced Volkswagen VIP package. (All entrants must be of legal age turning 18 years on the 31.12.2019 or before and in possession of a valid class B driving license.)

Conditions of entry for the Volkswagen ID. R Challenge at the Nürburgring Nordschleife:

1. Conditions of entry

It is possible for all people all over the world to enter the Volkswagen ID. R Challenge. All entrants must be of legal age (turning 18 years on the 31.12.2019 or before) and in profession of a valid class B driving license.

2. Competition

The Volkswagen ID. R Challenge is an international competition, staged by Volkswagen Motorsport and taking place on the Steam-based “RaceRoom Racing Experience” racing simulation. It consists of a leaderboard competition (time attack mode) held online, which starts on the 24th of April 2019 and ends on the 24th of October 2019, and an online final, held after the conclusion of the leaderboard competition. The most successful players will be given the chance to race for a Volkswagen Ice Adventure Sweden organized by the Volkswagen Driving Experience. The exact details on the final, and the number of players qualifying for it will be communicated at a later stage.

3. The organiser of the Volkswagen ID. R Challenge

4. Prizes

The first place will have the chance to participate on a Volkswagen Ice Adventure in Sweden between January and March 2020.

The second place will be a sporty driving training with Volkswagen Driving experience.

The third-place includes a VIP package with a special surprise. Any contributions in kind will be taxed on a flat-rate basis by Volkswagen AG in accordance with §37b EStG. The flat-rate taxation is not carried out for employees of affiliated companies (according to § 15 AktG).

All prizes will be paid out according to the position in the final. The leaderboard competition acts as a qualifier for the final.

5. Declaration of Consent

The winners agree that their names will be announced in a press release published through the channels of Volkswagen AG and RaceRoom Entertainment GmbH.

The winners agree, that Volkswagen AG and RaceRoom Entertainment GmbH respectively their business partners within the finale of the Volkswagen ID. R Challenge make and broadcast photographs and movie recordings (e.g. internet stream), on which the winners are identifiable as well as statements, interviews and similar captured on audio and video. Volkswagen AG and RaceRoom Entertainment GmbH are entitled to use these recordings.

6. Data Privacy

All personal data is collected and processed in accordance with the statutory provisions governing data protection in Germany. Only the personal data that is required to handle the competition and prize is collected and forwarded onto partners of RaceRoom Entertainment GmbH. All employees and partners of RaceRoom Entertainment GmbH are obliged by RaceRoom Entertainment GmbH to maintain data secrecy. Data is only transferred to state agencies or authorities within the framework of legal regulations. The participant agrees to this. The data is deleted after the competition has been carried out.

7. Premature Termination of the Competition

Volkswagen AG has the right to terminate or cancel the Competition at its discretion at any time. No claims can be derived from any premature termination.

Volkswagen AG and RaceRoom Entertainment GmbH have the right to exclude one or more participants from taking part in the competition in the event of any manipulations or attempted or suspected manipulation.

8. Changes

Volkswagen AG and RaceRoom Entertainment GmbH explicitly reserve the right to amend or modify these conditions at any time, with effect for the future. The competitors shall be notified about this at a suitable point.

9. Disclaimer of liability

Except in the case of gross negligence and intent, Volkswagen AG and RaceRoom Entertainment GmbH shall not be liable for damages, losses or impairments resulting from the fact that the participant’s ability to participate in this promotion is restricted or prevented. Volkswagen AG and RaceRoom Entertainment GmbH shall also only be liable for damages, losses or impairments resulting from the participation in this action, acceptance or use of the profit in the event of gross negligence and intent. The liability for damages resulting from injury to life, limb, health or essential contractual obligations and in accordance with the Product Liability Act remains unaffected by the above limitations and exclusions of liability.

10. Disclaimer/ Jurisdiction/ Severability clause

Recourse to the courts is not permitted. The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies exclusively. In the event of a dispute, Volkswagen AG’s registered office is the place of jurisdiction. If any of the abovementioned provisions in these conditions of entry should be ineffective or contain a loophole, the other provisions shall remain unaffected by this. Ineffective or incomplete provisions shall be maintained with effective content which comes as close as possible to reflecting the sense of the ineffective content. By participating, the user automatically accepts the conditions of entry.
