RaceRoom – McLaren 650S GT3 & Silverstone Preview
With all the Asseto Corsa news of the last few days, we would almost forget that there are more exciting developments going on in the sim racing scene.
Sector3 Studios published a preview in-game screenshot of the WIP McLaren 650S GT3 and Silverstone circuit for the RaceRoom Racing Experience simulator. At this time, no release date has been communicated for both the car model or track, but judging by the looks of the screenshot it might be #soon. (The Silverstone track was hinted to be scheduled for a December release)
Besides the Mclaren 650s GT3, the RaceRoom development team is working on even more new content for their racing simulator in the form of the new Callaway Corvette C7 GT3-R, BMW M6 GT3, BMW M235i Racing, Mercedes AMG GT3, Audi TT RS VLN, and the new 2016 Audi R8 LMS.
Building on the highly successful 12C GT3, the McLaren 650S GT3 is the latest generation track-focused racer from McLaren GT, designed and optimized to contest GT3 championships across the globe from the 2015 season. the 650S GT3 offers optimized aerodynamics and enhanced levels of refinement to produce even greater levels of driver engagement.
The British track-only GT racer is powered by a race prepared 3.8L V8 twin turbo McLaren M838T delivering 500bhp as a result of the FIA’s balance of performance rules. The engine is controlled by a McLaren Electronics ECU incorporating turbo boost and transmission shift control. The power is transferred to the rear wheels by a pneumatically actuated Six-speed sequential motorsport transmission that is operated by steering-wheel-mounted paddles.
