Razer OSVR VR Headset Test Using Assetto Corsa
Flash from RTA Motorsports has a go with the Razer OSVR, open source Headmounted VR Display using Assetto Corsa. Previously Flash already tested the Oculus DK2 and Sony Morpheus and now tries to find out if the cheaper Razer OSVR can compete with the more ubiquitous VR headsets.
The Razer OSVR Hacker Development Kit is an open-source VR Headset. It is a very affordable VR kit that does nor compromise on quality. The kit is designed to be user upgradable allowing VR enthusiasts and developers to swap key components within the HDK like optics, displays and faceplates. It features an accelerometer, a gyroscope and a compass, but no positional head-tracking tech like recent Oculus Rift kits or Sony’s Project Morpheus. The OSVR (Open-Source Virtual Reality) is using screen-level diffusion and refined optics resulting in a clear picture, snappy response times, and no screen door.
The OSVR Hacker Development Kit is available for US$299.99 (€273.00)
