Back in September 2022, Competition Company initiated its Rennsport Closed Beta phase registration. Community members who wanted a shot at becoming a closed Beta Tester, could head over to the official RennSport website and fill in the necessary forms to be added to the Closed Beta waiting list.
The Rennsport closed Beta was initially planned to launch at the end of 2022 but was later on postponed until January 2023, with an open Beta scheduled to launch in the Spring of 2023.
Via its social media channels, Competition Company has now officially confirmed that once more the closed Beta release has been pushed back to further improve the multiplayer and server features of the racing simulation. That said, it seems that it will be a short delay, as Competition Company stated that they aim to get going somewhere at the beginning of February 2023.
This is not an ideal situation, taking into account that the first 2 rounds of the Rennsport-powered ESL R1 Spring eSport Season are scheduled to be held on February 11-12 during the 2023 IEM Katowice event in Poland. Nevertheless, the team seems confident that the ESL R1 Esports Series will go ahead as planned.
I will keep you posted when more details become available.
