Competition Company has officially announced that the Porsche 963 LMDh sports prototype and the Goodwood Festival of Speed course will be added to the Rennsport racing simulator.
Porsche 963:
The Porsche 963 is a hybrid LMDh sports prototype racing car designed by Porsche and built by Multimatic, to compete in the Hypercar and GTP (Grand Touring Prototype) classes in the FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA SportsCar Championship, respectively. The 963 is Porsche’s first new prototype race car since the 919 Hybrid, which retired from competition in 2017. The 963 is designed to be more affordable than the 919 Hybrid, making it more accessible to private teams.
The 963 name draws inspiration from the Porsche 956 and Porsche 962 that raced in the 1980s, which also competed in American and European racing series. The car is powered by a 4.6-liter V8 engine with twin turbochargers, combined with an electric motor. The total system output is 500 kW (680 PS). The car weighs around 1,000 kilograms.
Goodwood Festival of Speed course:
The Goodwood Festival of Speed course is a 1.890-mile (3.045-km) hillclimb track located at Goodwood House in West Sussex, England. The course is a mix of straights and corners, and it has an average gradient of 4.9%. The current record time for the course is 39.081 seconds, set by Max Chilton in an electric McMurtry Spéirling in 2022.
The course is named after the Goodwood Estate, which is owned by the Duke of Richmond. The estate has been home to a variety of motorsport events since the early 1900s, and it is considered to be one of the most prestigious motorsport venues in the world.

Closed Beta
Back in September 2022, Competition Company initiated its Rennsport Closed Beta phase registration. The closed Beta was initially planned to launch at the end of 2022 but had been postponed until somewhere in 2023. Community members who wanted a shot at becoming a closed Beta Tester, could head over to the official RennSport website and fill in the necessary forms to make it on the Closed Beta waiting list.
Competition Company has confirmed that 50% of the Closed Beta access keys will go to those who first registered, while the other 50% are randomly chosen. This means that people who sign up as late as today can still be selected for Beta access.
Those who are lucky enough to make it to the closed beta selection will be able to test five cars on 4 different tracks. The Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II, BMW M4 GT3, Mercedes-AMG GT3 2020, and the Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) have been part of the ESL R1 eSport season. Now Competition Company added a fifth car to the list in the form of the Praga R1.
