rFactor 2 – Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Released

A few weeks ago, Studio 397 released the GT3 Challengers Pack DLC for rFactor 2. The pack is made up out of five exciting GT3 racing cars including a Porsche 911 GT3 R, BMW M6 GT3, Audi R8 LMS GT3, McLaren 720S GT3, and the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 2019.

At release, Studio 397 was able to include four of them but had to postpone the release of the 2019 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 due to the fact that Aston Martin Racing had not yet granted Studio 397 the permission to release the car publically.

Today Sector 397 had the honor to deploy the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 2019 model as a world first appearance in any sim racing title. Those who already purchased the GT3 Challengers Pack DLC for rFActor 2 will now be able to download the missing car via Steam.

Developed to replace the Vantage V12 GT3 that Aston Martin has been racing since 2012, the new Vantage GT3 is closely related to its GTE-spec sibling. The British company uses it as a factory race car, but now also offers the Vantage GT3 as a customer racer for GT3-spec series around the world, including the Blancpain GT Endurance Cup and the Sprint Cup.

Weighing in dry at 1245kg, the Vantage GT3 produces a boost-variable 535bhp and 700 Nm of torque. Built from a lightweight aluminum chassis, again based on the road car, it features a steel roll-cage, an Xtrac six-speed sequential gearbox, an Alcon motorsport multi-plate clutch, Öhlins four-way adjustable dampers and Alcon brakes and Bosch Motorsport ABS.

Additional updates – Hotfix

Besides adding the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 2019 v1.01, Studio 397 also deployed a small hotfix updating the McLaren 720s GT3 to v1.05. The update fixed an issue that caused a texture conflict with the Bentley GT3 and Adds the missing steering column issue which was mostly visible in VR.
