rFactor 2 – McLaren 650s GT3 DLC Released – World’s Fastest Gamer Registration Open

STUDIO 397 has released the officially licensed GT3 McLaren 650s GT3 model that will be used in McLaren’s World’s Fastest Gamer competition. The Mclaren 650s GT3 is the first in a series of officially licensed GT3 cars coming to rFactor 2 this year.

You can purchase the McLaren GT 650s GT3 for a very modest €4.99 ($5.85) on the dedicated Steam page.

Furthermore, STUDIO 397 also announced an upcoming GT3 Power pack DLC which will include five GT3 spec cars including the McLaren 650S GT3. The remaining four cars have yet to be revealed. The GT3 Power Pack is scheduled for a September release. You can already pre-order the DLC pack on Steam for 14,97€ ($17.55).

World’s fastest Gamer

Registration for the World’s fastest Gamer Competition is now open. The servers will be live for lapping 2nd August at 12 pm BST.

To enter, you will need a Steam account, rFactor 2 installed and the McLaren 650S GT3 purchased as content. STUDIO 397 will be running a special World’s Fastest Gamer sale from 10 am,  2nd to the 11th August. rFactor 2 will be 50% off. (only applies to the game – not the car)

Step 1

Firstly create a Steam account, download and install rFactor 2 here http://store.steampowered.com/app/365960/rFactor_2/ – we will be running a special World’s Fastest Gamer sale from 10am PST tomorrow – 2nd to the 11th August! (only applies to the game – not the car)

Step 2

Purchase and install the McLaren 650S GT3 from the rFactor 2 item store HERE (you can purchase just the car, or the pre-order the GT3 pack and get the McLaren now – please note, once you have purchased it can take Steam 5 minutes or so to deliver the content!)

Schedule and format

So, how does it work!?

Well, we will be hosting 4 rounds of racing.  To get into each of these rounds you need to finish high-up in the hot-lap standings which happen before each race.  The hotlaps last for around a week and if you make it within the required number you will qualify.  The races are broadcast and officiated, so your time to shine!

• Round 1 – Top 20 qualifiers
• Round 2 – Top 20 qualifiers
• Round 3 – Top 20 qualifiers
• Round 4 (Final) – Top 5 qualifiers

If you manage to get to the final 4th round you have a shot of becoming the final ‘World’s Fastest Gamer’ qualifier, not only that there will be some cool participation prizes along the way.
