McLaren M23 Onboard Projector immersion.

RemcoHitma is using a 1080p projector and a well-positioned screen to make his virtual onboard experience of the McLaren M23, as good as it can be.

Careful consideration of image size and distance, coupled with the correct FOV makes everything look just perfect. I don’t think it gets much better than this!
 

• Steering wheel is the Bodnar FF wheel at 540deg, 50% strength, custom FF plugin.
• Pedals: 3-pedal with load cell brake, maxed out at 50Kg.
• H-shifter: custom, all steel, configured in historically correct FG400 layout.
• Sim: rFactor
• Track: Nordschleife EVO
• Car: McLaren M23 with complete physics overhaul.
• Projector: Optoma HD800x 1080p
• Screen: 3mm MDF board covered in plain white paper.
• Image size: 163cm diagonal (16:9)
• FOV: 55
• No v-sync, framerate locked at -180 in .PLR
• Apparent framerate issues reside with YouTube.
