Roots - Building Project Motor Racing - Episode 1

Recently, developer Straight4 announced that its upcoming GTRevival racing game would be renamed to Project Motor Racing and that they partnered with GIANTS Software as a new publisher. Furthermore, it was revealed that the game will be powered by the GIANTS game engine, wich is also used to power the mega-popular Farming Simulator series.

Now Straight4 published the first in a series of Roots videos, taking us behind the scenes of the Project Motor Racing development.

This episode explains how Straight4 integrates their new physics engine into the GIANTS game Engine and features the ex-Stig BenCollins as he drives the Lister Storm GT which became somewhat of a mascot for the game project.

Project Motor Racing is scheduled to become available in 2025.

At the end of 2022, Ian Bell (SimBin, Blimey Games, and Slightly Mad Studios) announced that he founded a new studio branding named Straight4Games or just plain Straight4. The new company announced a Strategic Partnership with German-Austrian media publisher and distributor PLAION, (formerly known as Koch Media GmbH). At this point, Straight4 had revealed they were working on a new racing simulation with the project name GTR Revival, later renamed to GTRevival and now Project Motor Racing which should become available for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
