The Chinese SIMAGIC sim racing peripheral company has recently introduced the new DS-8X Shifter unit.
This new sequential / H-Pattern combo shifter is fully made of metal, featuring a steel-core construction and an aluminum alloy housing, ensuring solid and reliable performance even under high loads.
The unit sports a one-button Dual Mode Switching system, enabling the user to quickly switch between Sequential and H-shifter Mode. While the workings of the sequential mode (up and down) is self-explanatory, the H-shifter Mode features 8 forward gears and 1 reverse. A Pull-out gear lock ensures that gears 7, 8, and R are not incorrectly engaged.
To create a preferred feel, the shifter resistance strength is fully adjustable and can be fitted with multiple types of third-party gear knobs.
The Plug and play unit can be connected to the PC via a Type-C USB socket. No driver software is required.
While the shifter can be hard-mounted via a number of pre-drilled holes that accommodate M6 bolts, the unit can also be side mounted with an optional L-plate bracket that is sold separately.
