Studio 397 has announced a new Formula Series for the rFactor 2 racing simulator. The weapon of choice for this new Formula Pro and Formula Challenge eSport Series will be a brand new scratch-build open-wheeler model. For the time being, Studio 397 only shared some teaser pictures and some specs. The full car reveal is scheduled for June 30.

Formula Pro – Team-Based, over $25,000 in prize money
The Formula Pro Series will be held on every other Monday evening. Formula Pro features the best teams in sim racing, where each team fields 2 drivers to fight together for the Formula Pro title! We have invited a few teams already but there are spots open on the list! Does your team have what it takes to compete in Formula Pro? Applications are open now until June 30! Formula Challenge – Driver based, multiple splits
The Formula Challenge Series will be held on Fridays in the same week as Formula Pro. Formula Challenge is the feeder series into Formula Pro, where drivers fight for a team spot in Formula Pro season 2. Drivers will qualify through the Competition System and will be sorted in splits for the season opener. Throughout the season drivers will be able to move up and down between the splits.

The car
We are building a brand new car for Formula Pro and Formula Challenge! While we’re keeping the car under wraps for now, below are some of the specs of the car. We’re extracting 800 HP from an 18000 RPM screaming engine. 680 KG is leaning on the tires at standstill, with an additional 2400 KG worth of downforce leaning on top of that at speed! To keep the car in top shape during all your Formula Series races, the car is fitted with some serious tires, meaty brakes, and double wishbone suspension with 3rd elements all-round.
This will be one rapid machine we’ll be using in our new Formula Series. Check out the full car reveal on June 30!
