The 24 hours of Le Mans comes to Project CARS
Just after the 82e 24 Heures du Mans weekend, Slightly Mad Studios announced the exiting news that the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, organizers of the world-famous 24 Hours of Le Mans, have granted a license to bring the world’s biggest motor race to Project CARS. The 24 Hours of Le Mans is the world’s oldest active sports car race in endurance racing, held annually since 1923 near the town of Le Mans, France, and is considered to be one of the most prestigious automobile races in the world. A virtual version of the famous Circuit de la Sarthe will be added to the Project Cars content.
With features such as dynamic day & night racing and dynamic weather changes, including rain might just make it the perfect platform to show your endurance skills. Project CARS will enable you to race the 24 hour event in real-time, with a grid of up to 55 cars.
Slightly Mad studios report that the development team is supervised by no less than three drivers with experience running the real 24 hours of Le Mans. Rene Rast,Oli Webb and ex Stig Ben Collins who is also the physics advisor for Project CARS.
Next to a virtual version of the Circuit de la Sarthe (Le Mans), Project cars also feature a selection of endurance machinery, such as Audi’s 2002 Audi R8, 2011 R18 TDI LMP1 and the most recent 2014 Audi R18 e-Tron Quattro that won this years edition of the 24h. also the LMP2 class is already populated with the Alpine A450 LMP2 and the ORECA 03 LMP2. For the historic fans, the 1978 Renault Alpine A442B, 1990 Mercedes Benz Sauber C9 Group C and 1999 BMW V12 LMR prototype.
Project CARS will be coming to the Playstation 4, Xbox One, Steam OS, WiiU & PC, starting November 2014.
