The AERON Simulator S2000 Rally Shifter
More and more engineering companies are getting involved in the world of racing simulations, and some of them try to differentiate themselves by providing hardware in a certain niche. The Italian AERON Simulator company was founded in 2015 and is a manufacturer of professional equipment for driving simulators heavily focussing on the world of rally sport.
Recently they introduced the S2000 sequential gear shifter which is a replica of what we can find in the real S1600 and S2000 class rally cars. The S2000 shifter is developed with the help of real-world rally driver Liberato Sulpizio who drives a Renault Clio S1600.
For durability purposes, both the S2000 shifter body and shifter knob are machined out of a solid block of aluminum. The shifter body is fitted with steel bushings to counter wear and flexing. The high-quality springs are replicating the engage and return forces of the real Clio S1600/S2000 rally shifter. To make sure the product can take some heavy rally abuse, AERON Simulator tested the product for over 200 hours using the RealRally RBR and Assetto Corsa software.
There are two models available. The “standard” non-adjustable version, and a “Professional Training Pilot” version that comes with adjustable spring tension. The standard S2000 sequential gear shifter is on sale for €325.00, including VAT. The adjustable “Pilot Training” version is priced slightly higher at €359.00.
