The Simpit – Interview with Frank Rico of Ricmotech

Shaun Cole of The Simpit interviews Frank Rico of Ricmotech Sim Racing Equipment.

The world of sim racing is rapidly changing. With the introduction of innovative hardware such as hydraulic pedals and direct drive force feedback wheels, the sky has become the limit when shopping for sim racing hardware to enhance both realism and immersion. While there are some major multinational companies out there claiming their share of the market, there are also a handful of smaller companies providing us with a selection of high-end affordable sim racing products.

One of those small companies is the Miami Lakes, Florida based Ricmotech. Many years ago, Ricmotech founder Frank Rico marketed his RS1 Do It Yourself sim chassis templates. This was the start of what we now know as the Ricmotech Sim Racing Equipment company. Nowadays, Frank is providing the sim racing community with a multitude of aftermarket product such as modification kits, button boxes and hydraulic pedal sets to name a few.

Shaun Cole sat down with Frank Rico and talked about the history of the Ricmotech company and some of the thought process behind his sim racing products. Interestingly, near the end of the interview, Frank introduces a motion rig he is working on. We will surely keep you informed when more info is released.
