Thrustmaster Direct Drive Wheel Confirmed

Thrustmaster Direct Drive Wheel Confirmed

Back in June, Thrustmaster unveiled the T-GT II steering wheel as the successor of the Thrustmaster T-GT wheel and made it look as if this was their product to compete with the Fanatec CLS DD wheelbase. Now it has become clear that this is not the case.

Today Thrustmaster published the 2021 product roadmap, listing a number of new products that will be released this semester. Interestingly, besides new pedals and a new racing wheel bundle, the roadmap also lists a new Direct Drive wheel for the PC.

Therefore, it is now officially confirmed that Thrustmaster will make the jump to Direct Drive technology. And let’s be honest, if Thrustmaster wanted to stay in the game, this was a necessary move.

Nevertheless, to make it a successful product, Thrustmaster will have to battle the very competitively priced Fanatec CSL DD.

I will keep you posted when more info becomes available.
