Just after announcing the new T598 Direct Drive racing wheelbase bundle for both PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, Thrustmaster is back with yet another new product introducing the new Hypercar Wheel Add-On.
The Hypercar Wheel is compatible with Thrustmaster T818 and T598 direct-drive wheelbases via the included Thrustmaster’s next-gen quick release.
The fictional 320-mm oval wheelrim is in their own words inspired by modern luxury hypercars. The wheel is built with premium materials (Aluminium and forged carbon are mentioned) and is very light, weighing 1,433g.
The rim is wrapped with a topstitched leather-like material and Alcantara.
It features an aluminum central faceplate housing 25 push-buttons, 4 aluminum rotary encoders (2 regular and 2 thumb units), and a D-Pad. Furthermore, the wheel features two 2 user-configurable LED lights to display the RPM and additional race info.
The rear houses a set of magnetic sensor paddle shifters and configurable front analog triggers and the clutch assist function. Used as a dual-clutch, the analog triggers let the user configure the biting point and get off to a lightning-fast start.
Thrustmaster Hypercar Wheel Add-On will have a price of €399.99 / $399.99 / £349.99. The wheel will be up for Pre-order on the 18th of October. A release date is scheduled for the 14th of November 2024.
