Thrustmaster announced its new T598 Direct Drive racing wheelbase bundle for both PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
The Wheelbase makes use of a Direct Axial Drive motor, which aims to deliver a more affordable alternative to high-end direct drive bases while still providing high-fidelity Force Feedback and clear effects.
The Thrustmaster T598 bundle will be available in the US on October 19 , followed by a Europe release on November 29. The bundle will be available for €499,99 / £449.99 / $689.99.

The T598 can deliver 5 Nm of constant torque, and ( up to 10 Nm) boosted effects with a low latency of 5 ms.
The base lets you adjust settings and save your profiles directly via the (small) Race Dash screen on the wheelbase. More than 10 settings are configurable, including the Gear Jolt to feel gear shifting in the wheel rim.
In games, Race Dash displays more than 10 items of race information* such as speed, best time, position or race flags.
The Thrustmaster T598 is introduced as a bundle including the wheelbase, a new Detachable lightweight (1.8 lb / 811 g) Sportscar type wheelrim, and a Raceline Pedals LTE pedal set featuring a throttle and brake pedal.
The 11.8-inch / 30-cm wheelrim features rubber grips, and mag-shift paddles shifters. The multifunctional encoder lets you freely assign 12 additional game actions, to keep your favorite functions at your fingertips. Thanks to its extremely lightweight design (1.8 lb / 811 g), you’ll really feel all of the motor’s power!
The included Raceline Pedals LTE set is a two-pedal setup made of metal with a sandblasted finish. The pedal movement is read using magnetic H.E.A.R.T. sensors ensuring a durable solution for the wear and tear sim racing pedals have to endure.
You can customize the firmness of the pedals wia a choice of different springs, and the 3 adjustment notches behind each pedal. The pedal set can be upgraded with a third Load Cell pedal thanks to Raceline Pedals Upgrade Kit (sold separately, available soon).
The sturdy metal base plate can be mounted straight on a sim rig but is also fitted with Non-Slip pads to improve the grip of the base plate on hard or carpeted surfaces.
