Vote Glenn McGee for the Race of Champions
Many sim racers and iRacing members will undoubtedly have heard of Glenn McGee. Fans of the iRacing Solstice and Mazda MX5 series might have come across the always friendly racer in some of the online competitions.
Back in November 2015, Glenn McGee was crowned the winner of the 2015 Mazda Road to 24 Shootout, and doing so earned a scholarship to race in the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Cup. Now the adventure continues.
Glenn McGee has been named one of ten finalists to join IndyCar star James Hinchcliffe on Team ROC Factor North America in Miami on January 21-22 to compete against an elite field of race drivers including Sebastian Vettel, Kyle and Kurt Busch, Tom Kristensen and Juan Pablo Montoya in the 28th annual Race of Champions (ROC). The winner will be chosen based on the results of a public vote on the ROC website and the decision of the ROC jury.
It is a wonderful thing to know that these days our hobby can be the perfect stepping stone to a real world racing career. However, we as a community will have to support those with the needed skills. We now have the chance to make sure that one of our own gets the chance to compete in the 2017 Race of Champions.
