WRC5 Announcement Trailer
Big Ben Interactive and Kylotonn Games published the official announcement trailer of the WRC5 rally game that will be released this fall.
The included video and screenshots reveal the Ford Fiesta RS WRC from the M-Ford World Rally Team in action at various rally stages featured in the game.
“With these new trailer & screenshots, we want to show different locations and challenges that are waiting for players” says Alain Jarniou, WRC 5 Game Director. “From the frozen roads and snow banks of Sweden, to the narrow and sandy lines of Sardinia, or even the fast technical sections of Finland, we really want to put players into real drivers’ gloves. That’s why we worked hard to recreate the special atmosphere at each of the 13 rallies that makes the WRC so diverse” declares Alain Jarniou.
The previous four versions of the official WRC game where developed by the famed Milestone Studios, who did a good job, but never seemed to have impressed the Rally Game Community.
When Big Ben Interactive revealed that the fifth installment of the game was going to be developed by the French Kylotonn Game Studio, hopes were high that we might see a WRC title appear with a somewhat more sim-like approach.
While still not allot of details are known about WRC 5, the announced features are very promising. The game is developed using the high-end Kylotonn Kt Engine HD cross-platforms game engine supporting features such as dynamic weather, dynamic day to night cycles, level editor, particles editor, physics engine and damage model. With this kind of toolkit, it must be possible to develop a good looking next-gen Rally game.
That said, the new WRC title will have to impress because 2015 will also be the year of the competing Rally game titles such as Sebastien Loeb Rally Evo, gRally, and the well received Codemasters Dirt Rally that is already available as an Early Access version.
If all goes as planned, WRC 5 will be released this October for PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PS Vita.
